In non-destructive testing (NDT), an ultrasonic thickness and corrosion gauge is a specialized tool used to measure the thickness of materials, usually metals, and identify corrosion or erosion in industrial settings. Ultrasonic sound waves are used by ultrasonic thickness gauges to measure a material's thickness. To measure the thickness of materials like steel, aluminum, polymers, composites, and glass, ultrasonic thickness gauges are frequently used in the manufacturing, aerospace, oil and gas, petrochemical, maritime, and structural engineering industries.
DMQ QS Series thickness gauges from Demeq are used to measure the wall thickness of materials and parts even where access to only one side of the wall is possible. Measure the thickness of metals with or without coatings that are subject to corrosion and wear, and measure plastics, acrylics, ceramics, and glass among other materials.
