Product Description
The Mitutoyo 568-467 Digital ABS Borematic is designed for accurate and repeatable inspection of 1.0–1.2" (25.4–30.48 mm) internal diameters. Its three-point measuring system automatically centres inside the bore, allowing operators to obtain direct diameter readings without the transfer process associated with telescoping gauges.
With a measuring range of 1.0–1.2" and ±.0003" (±6 µm) accuracy, the 568-467 is suitable for inspecting bushings, hydraulic valve bores, small pump housings, instrument fittings and precision sleeves. The gauge provides .00005" (0.001 mm) resolution and supports both inch and metric measurement.
The electrostatic-capacitance ABSOLUTE encoder retains the established origin during normal battery life, helping reduce the need for repeated re-zeroing. The LCD display has 8.5 mm digits and a 330° rotatable display unit for easier viewing from different inspection positions.
TiN-coated measuring contact points provide wear-resistant contact surfaces and can reach close to the bottom of blind holes. For deeper components, the optional 150 mm extension rod 952622 can provide additional measuring reach.
The snap-open lever allows the operator to squeeze, insert and release the gauge inside the bore. The three contacts then self-centre for measurement. Built-in GO/NO-GO judgement supports user-defined upper and lower limits, while the Digimatic SPC output allows measurements to be transferred to inspection and quality-control systems.
The gauge uses one SR44 battery and is specified for approximately 5,000 hours of battery life. It also includes functions such as Zero/ABS, two-point preset, data hold, error alarm, low-battery alert, function lock and inch/mm conversion.
For users comparing adjacent ranges, the Mitutoyo 568-466 covers .8–1.0" bores, while the 568-468 covers the next larger 1.2–1.6" range.

Who This Product Is Best For
The Mitutoyo 568-467 is suitable for precision machine shops, hydraulic service workshops, aerospace MRO operations, automotive component manufacturers and quality-control teams inspecting 1.0–1.2" bores.
Typical applications include bronze and steel bushings, hydraulic valve bodies, spool bores, small pump housings, instrument fittings and aerospace sleeves. Its three-point self-centring design is useful where consistent internal-diameter readings are required across repeated inspections.
The gauge is also suited to production environments where operators need direct readings, tolerance judgement and the ability to transfer measurement data into an SPC system.
How to Use / How It Works
1. Set the reference origin
Place the gauge in a suitable certified setting ring and establish the reference value using the zero/origin function. The ABSOLUTE encoder helps retain the established origin during normal battery life.
2. Set measurement limits
Enter the required upper and lower tolerances if GO/NO-GO judgement is needed. The display can then indicate whether the measured bore falls within the defined limits.
3. Measure the bore
Squeeze the snap-open lever, insert the measuring head into the bore and release the lever. The three contact points self-centre inside the bore and provide a direct diameter reading.
4. Check and record the result
Read the measurement on the rotatable LCD display. Use data hold when required, or transfer the reading through the Digimatic SPC output for quality-control records.
Frequently Asked Questions
What bore range does the Mitutoyo 568-467 measure?
The 568-467 measures internal diameters from 1.0–1.2" (25.4–30.48 mm), with selectable inch and metric display.
How accurate is the Mitutoyo 568-467?
Mitutoyo specifies ±.0003" (±6 µm) accuracy, with .00005" (0.001 mm) resolution.
Does the 568-467 use three-point measurement?
Yes. Its three-point measuring head self-centres inside the bore to provide direct internal-diameter readings.
Is a setting ring included?
