The Mitutoyo 568-929 is an interchangeable-head Borematic set designed for precision measurement of small and mid-size internal bores from .5–1" (12.7–25.4 mm). It allows one digital display unit to work with three measuring heads, providing coverage across multiple bore ranges without requiring a separate display for every size.
The supplied heads cover .5–.65", .65–.8" and .8–1". The set also includes adaptors 216556 and 216557 and setting rings 177-182 and 177-287 for establishing the reference for the applicable heads.
Each measuring head uses three-point contact with a self-centring mechanism to help provide repeatable internal diameter measurements. The TiN-coated contact points can reach close to the bottom of blind holes, making the set suitable for applications such as pump and valve bushings, hydraulic fitting bores, small bearing seats, instrument housings and connecting-rod small ends.
