The Brannan 10/889/0 is a general purpose specific gravity hydrometer from the L50 series, graduated from 1.55 to 1.60 SG. It compares the relative density of a liquid with that of water, so this 1.55–1.60 model is intended for liquids denser than water. The 10/889/0 is 335 mm long, divided in 0.0005 SG steps over a 0.050 SG span, and adjusted at 60 °F (15.6 °C). Like the other L50 instruments, the 10/889/0 is similar to hydrometers in ISO 650 and in the now superseded 1960 issue of BS 718.
