For air and gas temperatures, the Palmer Wahl TC805 places a bare-head Type K junction inside a perforated radiation shield, a design aimed at fast response and good accuracy. It is well suited to high-temperature radiation backgrounds. The standard model has an 8 in shank, with 12, 24 and 36 in versions available.
