The Palmer Wahl RTC827 is a 3.5 in Type K piercing probe for measuring the temperature of hot brass or aluminium ingots. It is the standard-duty counterpart to the RTC827A heavy duty crust-breaking version. It is used with the TC829 series extension handle, responds in 3 seconds in boiling water and is rated to 1800 °F.
