The Palmer Wahl 172 is a self-adhesive surface probe: a polymer-encased platinum RTD set in a 1.25 x 1 in pressure-sensitive adhesive patch. With no handle and 10 ft of Teflon-coated cable, it is left in place to monitor environmental tests, curing cycles and oven processing, up to 350°F.

The probe is offered with connectors to suit Palmer Wahl TM (M8x1 4-pin, for TM612/TM630), TMA (Lemo 4-pin, for TM612A/TM630A), 392AHP (4-pin DIN female, for 392HP/392AHP) and 392A (3-conductor 0.176 in bantam phone plug) series meters.
