Product Overview

The Dwyer Series TUF Ultrasonic Energy Meter is designed to accurately and reliably measure heating and cooling energy consumption in clean, compatible liquids using ultrasonic technology. The TUF-400-BN is the DN40 version, rated for a 10 m³/h permanent flow rate.

By combining flow measurement, temperature sensing and energy calculation in one compact device, the TUF-400-BN simplifies heat metering and tenant-level utility sub-metering. It is suitable for applications involving chillers, boilers and individual apartment or tenant piping.

The ultrasonic design has no moving parts, helping reduce mechanical wear and maintenance requirements compared with mechanical BTU meters. An 8-digit LCD provides local readings of temperature, flow rate and energy consumption directly at the meter.

The TUF-400-BN uses BACnet® MSTP communication for integration with building automation systems and utility billing platforms. For installations requiring Modbus communication, the TUF-400-MD uses the same DN40 flowmeter body and specifications with Modbus® RTU communication.

The meter features a plastic housing with brass and 316L stainless steel wetted parts and an IP65 enclosure rating. It supports horizontal or vertical mounting. On horizontal pipe runs, the meter should be mounted at least 45° from horizontal to help prevent debris accumulation.

The DN40 version uses a threaded G1-1/2B/G2B connection within the DN15-DN40 connection range. The unit operates on a 24 Vac/Vdc supply and supports an optional user-supplied 3.6V ER26500 lithium battery for backup.
