Product Overview

The Dwyer AVUL-3DM1-LCD air velocity transmitter provides a stable velocity signal for duct airflow monitoring and control. Its higher measurement ranges make it suitable for applications such as supply and exhaust ducts, air handling units, VAV systems and fan-tracking installations.

The transmitter measures air velocity across four field-selectable ranges: 1000, 2000, 3000 or 4000 FPM, equivalent to 5, 10, 15 or 20 m/s. Range and units can be configured using the onboard DIP switches.

For building automation and networked HVAC systems, the AVUL-3DM1-LCD communicates using Modbus RTU/ASCII. Devices can be daisy-chained through the three-wire removable terminal connection, while supported baud rates range from 9600 to 115200. The device presents a 1/8 unit load on the network.

A built-in 5-digit LCD provides local readings directly at the transmitter, which can make commissioning, troubleshooting and field verification more convenient. The transmitter can provide velocity and flow data along with additional values such as air temperature through the communication system.

The sensing element features a protective conformal coating intended to support long-term operation with reduced preventive maintenance. The housing is rated NEMA 4X (IP66) and is designed for operating temperatures from 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F) with 5 to 95% RH non-condensing humidity.

The AVUL-3DM1-LCD operates from 24 VDC ±20% or 24 VAC ±20%, with maximum current consumption of 60 mA. Zero and span can be adjusted using digital push buttons.

For applications where a local display is not required, the Dwyer AVUL-3DM1 provides the same transmitter configuration without the LCD.
