The DeFelsko PRBFNGS is the PosiTector 6000 FNGS probe, sold as the probe only, so a PosiTector gage body is required. It is a very high-range probe for non-conductive coatings on all metals, such as ship hull coatings and thick intumescent paints, measuring coatings on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, recognising the substrate automatically over a 0–63.5 mm (0–2.5 in) range. Coating inspectors and QC staff fit it to an existing Standard or Advanced body, since every PosiTector body accepts every probe.
