These remote-reading 5 in dial thermometers come in two mounting styles: the 50B for wall mounting and the 50C for flush mounting. A polished 316 stainless steel case houses a case-compensated direct-drive bourdon coil, linked by capillary to a remote bulb. Liquid-actuated systems (to 500°F) use 81 series bulbs; mercury systems for higher ranges use 51 series bulbs.
