Set the 5-15 mm gauge with a setting ring or micrometer and use it as a comparator; the spring-loaded caliper keeps point contact at constant measuring force. At 5-15 mm the measuring force is 0.8-1.2 N, and the 160 g gauge ships in a paper box with a certificate of inspection.
