The HLDC impact device (11AAE903) is the compact version of the HLD for testing in confined spaces such as tubes or bores and fits the HH-V400 Leeb hardness tester. It uses an impact hammer with an integrated carbide-ball tip, D scale (ASTM A 956).

- Parts of 5 kg and 5 mm or more, or 0.1 to 5 kg on a massive base
- Test points at least 5 mm from the edge and 3 mm apart
