Product Description
The Mitutoyo 568-463 Digital ABS Borematic bore gauge is designed for fast and repeatable internal diameter inspection of reamed and bored holes from .425–.500" (10.795–12.7 mm).
Its three-point self-centring measuring head helps position the gauge consistently inside the bore, while the snap-open lever allows quick insertion and measurement. Squeeze the lever, insert the measuring head and release it to obtain the bore reading.
The gauge provides ±.00025" (±5 µm) accuracy with .00005" (0.001 mm) resolution. Its TiN-coated measuring contact points are designed for repeated use and can reach close to the bottom of blind holes.
The ABSOLUTE Digimatic electrostatic capacitance encoder retains the origin without over-speed errors. The LCD display has 8.5 mm digits and a 330° rotatable display unit, making readings easier to view in different machine positions.
For production inspection, the gauge supports GO/NO-GO judgement with user-set upper and lower limits. Its Digimatic SPC output can transfer measurements to SPC software using compatible Mitutoyo cables, USB Input Tool Direct or U-WAVE-T connectivity.
The gauge operates on one SR44 battery with approximately 5,000 hours of battery life. Inch and metric measurement can be selected, while zero/ABS, preset, data hold, function lock and low-battery alert functions support regular production inspection.
For applications requiring additional reach, the optional 100 mm extension rod, part number 952322, can be used. A matching setting ring is sold separately for gauge setting and calibration.
For nearby measuring ranges, consider the Mitutoyo 568-462 for .350–.425" or the Mitutoyo 568-464 for .500–.650".

Who This Product Is Best For
The Mitutoyo 568-463 is suitable for CNC machining centres, production inspection departments, aerospace component manufacturing, valve manufacturing and precision engineering applications in Saudi Arabia and the GCC.
It is useful for checking reamed holes, precision bores, hydraulic fittings, instrumentation components, valve bodies, actuator bushings and other parts where controlled internal diameter measurement is required.
The SPC output also makes it suitable for production environments where operators need to record measurements and monitor dimensional trends over a machining run.
How to Use / How It Works
1. Set the gauge
Use a suitable matching setting ring within the .425–.500" measuring range. The setting ring is sold separately.
2. Set the origin and tolerance
Perform the required zero or preset procedure and configure the upper and lower tolerance limits for GO/NO-GO judgement.
3. Measure the bore
Squeeze the snap-open lever, insert the three-point measuring head into the bore and release the lever. The self-centring contacts position themselves against the internal surface.
4. Read the measurement
Read the bore diameter on the LCD display. The display supports inch and metric measurement and can rotate through 330°.
5. Record the measurement
For production monitoring, transfer measurements through the Digimatic SPC output using a compatible cable, USB Input Tool Direct or supported U-WAVE-T connection.
Frequently Asked Questions
What bore sizes does the Mitutoyo 568-463 measure?
It measures internal diameters from .425–.500" (10.795–12.7 mm).
What accuracy does the Mitutoyo 568-463 provide?
The supplied specifications state ±.00025" (±5 µm) accuracy with .00005" (0.001 mm) resolution.
