The non-rotating spindle of the Mitutoyo Digimatic digital micrometer minimizes torsion on the softer components being measured and guards against wear and deformation of the workpiece. In order to get accurate and repeatable measurements, a ratchet-stop system applies consistent pressure to a workpiece. An easy-to-read LCD readout that is coolant-proof shows the measurements.
