The Martindale MAREZ165 goes beyond a basic socket tester by measuring earth loop impedance with a non-trip test, shown in six ranges from under 1.7 Ω to 500 Ω. A low earth resistance is needed for protective devices to disconnect properly under fault. It also detects 28 wiring faults and checks mains voltage, with three LEDs mapped to neutral, earth and live to help locate the fault.
