The two-direction ratchet stop on the Mitutoyo groove micrometre ensures a consistent measuring force on the spindle for accurate, repeatable groove depth and breadth measurements. Measurements for both interior and outside diameters are laser etched on the sleeve and spindle for precise, easy reading. A rotating and non-spinning spindle groove micrometre is provided. Measuring discs are made of precision ground hardened steel. The ratchet mechanism makes an audible click to guarantee that the measurement is done consistently. Hardened measuring discs are more resistant to wear, resulting in greater accuracy over time. For easy handling and readability, the micrometre is perfectly balanced. For better reading, the sleeve has a satin chrome finish and laser etched dimensions on the sleeve and thimble.
