The ETI 800-765 is a dial thermometer for checking the temperature inside a compost heap. A long 5 x 500 mm stainless steel probe reaches into the core of the pile, while the 50 mm dial uses a colour-coded scale from 0 to 100 °C so the stage of decomposition is easy to judge. It uses a bi-metal sensing element.
