ETI 286-001 is a thermistor test cap that simulates a freezer-level point of -18 °C when fitted to a thermistor thermometer. Each cap is calibrated at the time of purchase and supplied with a UKAS Certificate of Calibration, giving a quick way to confirm an instrument such as the Therma 20 or Therma 22 is reading correctly.
