Product Overview

The Dwyer CDTR-2N404 is part of the Series CDTR Carbon Dioxide, Relative Humidity and Temperature transmitter family, designed to combine indoor-air monitoring functions in a compact wall-mounted device.

This particular configuration provides CO₂ and relative humidity measurement while having no temperature output. It measures CO₂ from 0 to 2000 PPM and relative humidity from 0 to 100% RH, making it suitable for building management and demand-controlled ventilation applications.

The transmitter uses a single-beam dual-wavelength NDIR sensor for CO₂ measurement and includes digital barometric pressure adjustment and field calibration capabilities. The sensor automatically corrects CO₂ measurement for light-source aging.

Dwyer's Digital Intelligence Temperature Compensation Algorithm (DITCA™) helps eliminate measurement error associated with self-heating in wall-mounted combination devices.

Universal outputs for CO₂ and relative humidity can be configured as 4-20 mA, 0-5 VDC, or 0-10 VDC, allowing integration with a wide range of building management controllers. The humidity and temperature sensors are replaceable, while a physical hardware lockout helps protect configuration settings.

Because this model does not include an integral LCD, a service display tool is available for setup and calibration.

How to Specify & Commission It

  1. Mount the CDTR-2N404 according to the installation requirements for its North American wall-mount housing.
  2. Connect the required 16-35 VDC or 19-28 VAC power supply.
  3. Select the required 4-20 mA, 0-5 VDC, or 0-10 VDC output configuration.
  4. Connect the CO₂ and RH outputs to the building management or control system.
  5. Set the barometric pressure adjustment as required for the installation.
  6. Perform field calibration when required.
  7. Verify the CO₂ and RH readings at the connected controller.
  8. For buildings occupied 24 hours a day, verify calibration every 6 to 12 months, depending on the application.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Dwyer CDTR-2N404 measure?

The CDTR-2N404 measures CO₂ from 0 to 2000 PPM and relative humidity from 0 to 100% RH. This configuration has no temperature output.

What sensor does the CDTR-2N404 use?

It uses a single-beam, dual-wavelength NDIR sensor for CO₂ measurement. The humidity and temperature sensors are replaceable.

What outputs are available?

Universal outputs are available for CO₂ and RH, including 4-20 mA, 0-5 VDC, and 0-10 VDC.

How accurate is the CDTR-2N404?

The specified CO₂ accuracy is ±40 ppm + 3% of reading, while relative humidity accuracy is ±2%.

Does the CDTR-2N404 have a temperature output?

No. The CDTR-2N404 has no temperature output. The model's temperature-sensor provision is used as part of the transmitter's internal compensation architecture rather than providing a user temperature output.

Does the CDTR-2N404 have a display?

No. It does not include an integral LCD. A service display tool is available for setup and calibration.

Does the CDTR-2N404 require recalibration?

For buildings occupied 24 hours a day, Dwyer recommends verifying calibration every 6 to 12 months, depending on the application.

What is the power requirement?

The transmitter operates from 16-35 VDC or 19-28 VAC. Average power consumption is approximately 2 W, with a peak of 3.75 W.

What is the enclosure rating?
