For thin coatings on steel, the DeFelsko PosiTest G offers a 0–200 µm scale with ±1 µm tolerance up to 20 µm. It is a mechanical magnetic pull-off gauge suited to electroplating, thin paint films and phosphate layers, and it works without batteries or electronics. Platers and finishing shops use it where fine resolution at low thickness matters.
