The Dakota BT1-DL (MiniMax), part number Z-156-0008, is a handheld ultrasonic bolt tension monitor that reports fastener elongation, transit time in nanoseconds, load, stress and %strain. Resolution is switchable between 0.001 mm and 0.0001 mm, and the pulse-echo range runs from 25.4 to 25,400 mm.
Through its USB interface and an optional shut-off accessory, the gauge can be set to stop a tightening process once the required load is reached. Listed applications include wind turbines, automotive frames, theme parks and bridge structures.
