Brannan 33/501/0 combines a metal case and bezel with a 0 to +120 °C/°F scale and a glass window. Clipped to the outside of a water pipe by its spring, it gives a quick indication of the water temperature inside on pipes from 20 to 50 mm in diameter. The reading is factory adjusted to reflect the temperature inside the pipe rather than at its surface, so Brannan does not recommend sending it for laboratory calibration.
