With a scale running from -40 to +40 °C/°F, Brannan 33/403/0 is the sub-zero model in the clip-on pipe thermometer range, intended for cold and chilled water lines. Its 63 mm bimetal dial sits in a metal case with bezel and is held against pipes of 20 to 50 mm diameter by the supplied spring. Since the dial is mounted on the pipe surface, Brannan builds in an adjustment so it reflects the water temperature inside, which is why laboratory calibration is not recommended.
