The 22/100/2 is Brannan's blood bank batch sampling thermometer, reading -5 to +20 °C in 0.5 °C divisions with an accuracy of ±0.7 °C. A precision test thermometer is sealed into a 30 ml polypropylene bottle, so the reading follows the core temperature of stored units rather than brief air changes when the cabinet door opens or the thermostat cycles. Before use, the bottle is filled with monopropylene glycol or another heat transfer medium.
