Brannan 13/417/3 is a 210 mm soil thermometer used in agriculture and horticulture to check the temperature of soil and compost, reading -15 to +110 °C/°F. The kerosene-filled glass tube is protected by an aluminium case, and a green knob at the top makes the thermometer easy to grip and to locate again after it has been pushed into a bed or tray.
