It compares the relative density of a liquid with that of water, so this 1.70–1.75 model is intended for liquids denser than water. Adjusted at 60 °F (15.6 °C), the L50 model 10/892/0 measures 335 mm overall and spans 0.050 SG with 0.0005 SG divisions. The 10/892/0 follows the pattern of hydrometers in ISO 650 and the superseded 1960 edition of BS 718.
